The Reference Line
On the tab Reference line, you will find the setting options The word option (from Latin: optio = free will) used in computing means a choice. In CARAT it is normally used with a list box. that allow you to adapt the reference line of the respective form, according to your desires and requirements. In general these are, the form title, the display of the necessary numbers, as well as the contact data of your customers.

Reference line |
One one hand you can use the checkboxes A checkbox is a standard element in a graphic user interface. A checkbox has, in most cases, two states (set or not set). These usually correspond to a yes/no selection. in this area to select the numbers you want to display in the reference line. On the other hand, you have the ability to adapt the name of the particular number for the reference line to the requirements of your business, by using the respective input field. If you have several subsidiaries, you can, if desired, precede the respective form number (quotation, order, sales contract, invoice) by the particular subsidiary number, if stored, this for a better differentiation. |

By using the checkboxes in this area, you can additionally print the sub-number. The sub-number is the planning number, which can be appended to the respective form number separated by a slash. |

Reference line customer data |
By using the checkboxes in this area, you can specify which customer information should be printed in the reference line area. |

Print-date |
With this option, you can specify if the current date should be used for a print copy. If the option is not activated, the last print date will be used for the form. See also: The Print Options |

Form title |
In this area, you can store a name for the respective form on the first tab. If necessary, you can enter different names for the first page and the following pages. In addition a second tab is at your disposal, which you can use to specify a deviant form title for printing copies, given that the print copy option is activated. |

Legend |
In this area additional parameters are available, such as the form number or the print date, which you can use additionally in the form title. |

Barcode |
With this option you can activate a barcode. This option can be used to print the form number as a barcode to enable machine reading the form number with a scanner during later work steps. The following barcode types can be used: EAN The EAN stands for International Article Number (formerly European Article Number) and is a product identification number for commercial articles. The EAN is a number, made up of 13 or 8 numbers, that is assigned by central administration at the manufacturers request.-8, EAN-13, Code-128, Code 39, Code 39P, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 128.A, Code 128 B, Code 128 C. Consultant |
In the lower left area, you can set which consultant should be printed on the form. You can additionally specify which contact information should be printed as well. |

Planning Properties |
In this area, the already stored planning properties are displayed. The appropriate properties can be selected here for the print in the form, using the checkboxes. See also: The use of Plan / Article Properties |
